Entering middle or high school next year?

This event is perfect for you and your parents: “Exploring NUSD Secondary School Options Night,” from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Natomas HIgh School multipurpose room, 3301 Fong Ranch Rd.

The 90-minute session will feature officials from all NUSD middle and high schools, who will make presentations and answer questions about the academic options, activities, and athletic opportunities available at their campus. Call it one-stop shopping for families trying to decide which campus best suits their interests and needs.

Even if you’re not faced with making a decision about campuses next year, you’re welcome to attend — the event is meant for all elementary or middle school students and parents.

Participants will learn that each NUSD middle and high school has unique academic options — for example, Inderkum High offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, and the school plans to launch a Broadcasting program next year. Natomas HIgh students can enroll in the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma Program beginning next year, and the Nighthawk campus already is known for its engineering and robotics program. Discovery High’s popular Culinary Arts program prepares students for future careers in restaurants or food service.
