Being responsible earned many of Witter Ranch Elementary students 30 AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) bucks and an opportunity to enjoy a delicious hamburger lunch catered by NUSD Nutrition Services. AVID provides teaching staff with tools to help students become more resourceful, organized, and get college ready.
Perfect weather, a delicious lunch and the company of friends was a perfect reward for being responsible. AVID students have higher levels of grit, lower levels of stress, higher levels of self-efficacy, and higher levels of school engagement.
