Happening Soon: Teacher Reveal!

Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade students may find out who their teacher is beginning August 4th, at 8 am through ParentSquare! ParentSquare is the exclusive communication tool that all NUSD sites now use. It’s an easy way to stay in touch with your student’s teacher(s), stay on top of district news, and district events.

We also offer ParentSquare training for families. If you need help on using it, click here for more information.

Some of our families who have already registered for ParentSquare have received prizes to the Sacramento Fair and the Sacramento Zoo. Families who have already registered their ParentSquare account now have a chance to win tickets to the Roseville Golfland Sunsplash Park. Register today!

NUSD First Day of School: August 10th, Thursday

The first day of school for all NUSD school sites is set for August 10th, Thursday! Teachers, administrators, and staff members are excited to welcome back students. NUSD will provide tips and advice to help students get ready for the new school year in the coming days, so please keep an eye out for posts from our district on ParentSquare. Access School Resources through Digital Backpacks

Families have a virtual way of getting their students ready for class thanks to our district’s Digital Backpacks feature. Click this link to find your student’s school and access the principal’s welcome letter, family/student handbook, technical support, and more.

Annual Notification Documents for Parents to Sign

At the start of each school year, NUSD provides each family an Annual Notice of their Rights and Responsibilities pertaining to their student’s education. All notices are now available to sign electronically in ParentSquare. Once in ParentSquare, look for a message dated July 18 entitled, “Annual Notification Documents for your to Sign.”

SacRT RydeFreeRT Program Cards Available at all NUSD sites

RydeFreeRT cards are now available at all NUSD sites. The cards are valid from June 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) reminds Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade students they can ride the entire SacRT transit network, including SacRT buses, light rail, and SmaRT Ride on-demand microtransit service with the card for FREE!

Youth who are experiencing homelessness or taking part in foster programs are also allowed to participate int he program, regardless of current residence or school address.

If a student doesn’t have a school ID, they can get a RydeFreeRT card, which is available at schools, libraries, and the SacRT Customer Service Center at 1225 R Street (adjacent to the 13th Street light rail station). Learn more about the program at rydefreert.com.
